Inspired by the interviews of veterans documented by Svetlana Alexievitch, Andromache is a play in development centering a Russian woman who enlists in the Red Army as Russia was the only country to employ women in the military during World War II.

The story follows her navigation of the atrocities of war, the reckoning of her gender identity with the role expected of her on the front, and the insurmountable task of societal reintegration. The play seeks to give voice to and shed light on the stories of these women who fought and went unrecognized, or had their recognition stolen from them.
